What to do with My Lenovo IdeaPad S10?

from Windows Vista Weblog

I am a big fan of Netbooks/UMPC/Ultra mobile pc and finally I found a small netbook that is under 700USD, small and thin and has enough computing power to do 60-70% of my job. For months I have been going through magazines, stores and websites waiting for a netbook that fit my requirements and at last came Lenovo S10. My post on my new Lenovo S10 is — I have Finally Given in to a Netbook, Lenovo IdeaPad S10.

It has been under three days since I bought the small computer and until now, I haven’t decided what to do with it. The Lenovo S10 comes with Windows XP home edition SP3 but there is no way I am going to use that version. Development tools from Microsoft are not allowed to be installed in the home edition and at the very least I would have to upgrade to Windows XP Professional SP3 version. I am also contemplating on either installing Windows 2003 Server edition, Windows Vista Enterprise or even Windows 7. From the Lenovo site, all drivers especially BIOS drivers were tagged as Windows XP and most probably I would need to retain XP and dual boot with another operating system.

Again, I haven’t decided but would need to soon to be able to utilize my newly bought netbook. I would update you on what I decide to install in the S10.
